Marmalade Pink on Beauty Chat Blog

I was especially excited when this offer came up, and now I can pass some of the excitement along to you!  I was a guest-blogger on Beauty Chat Blog, writing about Marmalade PinkMarmalade Pink is a co-operative of women business owners committed to indie shopping and responsible small-business ownership.  Its a great group with some amazing products for sale, but don’t take my word for it, you can win some of our products.  Now through 6/10/08, visit Beauty Chat Blog and take a few minutes to enter the Marmalade Pink sponsored giveaway, with a group of prizes valued at $150.00.

While I was there, I also posted a simple recipe for a refreshing, home-made foot scrub.  I couldn’t help myself it is sandal season after all!

Our Crystal Glass Nail Files are HOT!

. Barefoot Bling has had the honor of being featured on not one, but two wonderful websites in the past few days!  Both Wickedly Chic and Fabulously 40 have showcased our foot and nail files.  If you’ve never tried a glass nail or foot file, you are missing out.  Glass nail files have a permanently etched filing surface that will never wear down, so they will be the last files you ever have to buy.  Nails are left with a flawless edge, and regular use can decrease nail chipping and peeling.  They can be used on natural or artificial nails.  The pedicure file is great for removing hardened or calloused skin from feet.  And let me tell you, these foot files are amazing.  Your heels and calluses can be gently buffed to baby-butt smoothness.  No pumice stone can match their fine filing action.  Don’t think its all work and no play, because these hard-working nail files are also pretty.  Each is individually hand-painted, and some even feature Swarovski Crystals.

Glass nail files make unique, memorable gifts, and would be wonderful for Mom this Mother’s Day.  As do our lovely selection of toe rings, anklets, and our super-plush luxury slippers!

Right now is a great time to check out Fabulously 40, as we are sponsoring a giveaway for a nail and foot file set.  Check out the site starting 4/24/08 for details.   Giveaway deadline is 4/27/08.

Can I run, bike, etc. with toe rings on?

I get asked this question a lot, and the answer is “yes, if they fit well, you can wear toe rings year-round in almost any kind of shoe.”  Fitted toe rings, can be totally comfortable, and you might not be any more aware of them than finger rings.  Pictured here is my current “staple” stack of toe rings, a gold trio with one of yellow, one of white, and one of rose gold.  It is classic, looks great with everything, and the trio of colors makes it unique.  I mix up and change out my toe rings all the time, except for this stack!  Its available at Barefoot Bling.

It is now the season for regular pedicures.  Below you will find some tips and recipes for some at-home pampering that can be done in conjuction with your salon or home pedicures.  (If you have a favorite tip, please email it to us at info@barefootbling.com and we will share it with everyone in our next newsletter!)

1.  Apply Top Coat over your nail polish every 2-3 days to prolong nail color shine and help prevent chipping.

2. Easy Moisturizing Foot Bath : Fill tub or footbath with warm-water. Add your favorite bath salts and one tablespoon of olive oil. The salts soften dry skin and calluses, and the olive oil moisturizes. Soak feet for 10 to 15 minutes.

3. LemonFoot Scrub:  Mix 1 cup Epsom Salt, 3 teaspoons olive oil and the juice of one small lemon. Immediately massage soles of feet (do not give the Epsom Salt time to dissolve), paying extra attention to any areas of dry or thick skin. Rinse throughly with warm water, and pat dry.

4. Foot Bath Massage:  Place several smooth marbles in the bottom of your foot bath.  When you move your feet over the marbles they act as soothing and stimulating massagers.

5.  Moisturize:  Be sure to moisturize your feet at least nightly to keep them looking their best.  We love our super-emolient Lotion Candles available at our online boutique.

April Promotion:  Free Gift with Purchase of $15.00 or more, while supplies last
